Hear from our panel of amazing speakers including Michaela Mayhew, Inhereted Blood Disorders Lead Nurse at St George's and Georgia Adebowale, Patient Engagement Coordinator at West London HCC, as well as Patrish Zea, the South West London Lead Mentor for the Sickle Cell Society.

There will be free refreshments for all guests too.

Why this matters:

Sickle cell is the fastest growing genetic condition in the UK and disproportionately affects people from Black African and Caribbean backgrounds. Many patients need regular blood transfusions to manage painful symptoms and avoid serious complications.

Every day, blood donations save lives, but for people living with sickle cell disorder, it’s even more urgent.

But stocks remain critically low, especially among key blood types and under-represented communities.

Panel Members:

Michaela Mayhew: Haemoglobinopathy Lead Nurse at St George

Georgia Adebowale: Patient Engagement Coordinator at West London HCC

Sheila Nortley: Award-winning writer/producer who has worked on several internationally renowned projects including Supacell, Zion, Victim, David is Dying and the #1 Netflix series Stay Close.

Patrish Zea: The South West London Lead Mentor for the Sickle Cell Society, Sickle Cell Advocate, and Founder of Sickle Teller charity where she increases awareness for sickle cell and blood donation.
