Sickle Cell Awareness Month Launch Exhibition
In recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, Akanji Studio is proud to launch a powerful new exhibition on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, from 7–11 PM at Boxpark Shoreditch. This free event invites the community to experience bold new artwork and live performances that celebrate resilience and raise vital awareness about sickle cell disease.
The evening will also feature a panel conversation with experts and advocates, shedding light on the challenges faced by those living with sickle cell and highlighting the urgent need for support and blood donations. The vibrant atmosphere will be amplified by the sounds of @dankiesounds, creating an unforgettable night of art, music, and meaningful dialogue.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to register as blood donors with Black Blood Matters UK and givebloodnhs, directly contributing to lifesaving efforts within the sickle cell community.
